Daniel Chapela (Caracas. 1969) es una de las figuras principales del periodismo deportivo en Venezuela. Con más de 20 años de experiencia en distintos medios de comunicacón, ha construido su credibilidad sobre las bases de una pasión sincera por desentrañar al fútbol y conocer su esencia. En ese mismo tenor, a los 25 años, se emprendió en la realización de un libro itinerante que desde varios rincones del mundo definió “El 11 de América”. Piedra angular de su producción literaria que trazó el camino de una carrera definida por el análisis sesudo, serio y responsable del deporte más popular del planeta. Semana a semana publica sus columnas de opinión en el diario El Nacional de Venezuela. Ha cubierto los últimos cinco mundiales de fútbol para distintos medios nacionales e internacionales. Fue Director de Comunicaciones en la Copa América Venezuela 2007. Combina sus funciones de periodista con la labor docente y la inquietud de formar nuevos profesionales. Pertenece al grupo de comentaristas de DirecTV Sports y hace parte de “Los Cronistas”, programa radiofónico de gran prestigio en el que, diariamente, se analiza el panorama deportivo local. Su carrera ha crecido a la par del fútbol del que es testigo. Por esta razón, se convierte en la voz de más peso para explicar la evolución de una práctica antes menospreciada y que ahora acapara la atención de toda Venezuela.

Página a página transita por la historia reciente de "La Vinotinto" y la describe con maestría, objetividad y entendimiento. Daniel Chapela es un cronista extraordinario y una muestra de ello es esta obra que nos presenta. Es un ejemplar de colección, ampliamente recomendado.

This book, while advertised as a reference book hardly qualifies. It is printed on cheap paper, is not typeset, and looks like a cheap copy machine generated collection of a hand-made book. Definitely not worth the money...I don't recommend this one.

Kindle Version does not include the videos from the CD?!

Really frustrated because even though the cover says that there would be a CD included, there is no where to watch the videos if you got the kindle version. Maybe I'm wrong and if so someone help me please but I'm very mad right now because I'm unable to do homework without the videos.

Poorly Made e-book for kindle

I found out I had the incorrect book and returned it to amazon but when i was using it , the formatting and everything was haphazard for the kindle version YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

*EDIT:

I would really like to stress that for 84$ this is slightly egregious how much this book is messed up, it shouldnt be on the market let alone for that price with all the glaring issues in this edition.

I purchased the physical textbook, while bulky, it has everything in working order and I have no other opinion on the actual course material seeing how Im taking a course which is for general education requirements (which uses this book)

While not directly focused on developing a post-subprime regulatory framework in the financial industry, the book does reflect the latest thinking by a respected group of scholars for understanding theory and practice in regulatory approaches.

Andres, Guasch and Azumendi develop indexes of regulatory governance from cross-country data and shows that regulatory involvement improves results in utility performance. Another study by Delmas, Russo, Montes-Sancho and Tokat finds that deregulation has a negative impact on efficiency and a positive impact on the provision of renewable energy. ne way to create willingness to pay for public goods is to bundle them with private goods. Consumers are willing to pay a premium for non-toxic cleaners because they see the likelihood of direct impacts on their own health.

More to the point for those concerned with reform of the financial industry, Romano discusses how SOX's use of a "one-size-fits-all" approach is oblivious to the microanalytic approach of firms matching governance structures and processes to specific organizational developments and requirements. Rulemaking expansions often occur after business crises galvanize public opinion and action by legislators around sometimes ill-conceived compromise solutions supported by powerful and vocal interest groups. In contrast, refinement of poorly conceived regulatory schemes generally takes many years and requires substantial research.

If nothing else, be sure to read the essay by Ghertman who outlines Stigler's 1971 article, the "Economic Theory of Regulation," which recognized that many rules are advocated by incumbent firms as barriers to entry. Stigler generally favored market-oriented deregulation... the road we took for decades. Ghertman goes on to discuss refinements offered by subsequent scholars that discuss variables such as group cohesion, political balance, and unintended incentives and transaction costs.

"Explanations of movements away from and back toward a dominating policy paradigm (regulation or deregulation) benefit from the dynamic properties of political science for third order changes (the paradigm), the dynamic properties of transaction cost theory for second order changes (regulatory instruments), and the behavioral theory of the firm and the contractual design view for first-order changes (regulatory mechanisms)."

Transaction cost economies are better grounded than a simple Stigler-based assertion that "regulation (or government) IS the problem" would warrant. Finding appropriate proxies to measure transaction attributes is problematic, especially across industries and jurisdictions, but is essential. We need to focus more on ex ante choices and less on ex post empirical tests if we are to move beyond the cycle of regulation, deregulation and reregulation.
