The author argues that democracies can be just tolerated by military rulers, until they feel that elected governments have moved to far away from the boundaries set by the military establishments. Under this light, the author analyzes relationships between the different democratic governments of Argentina since 1983 and the military institutions of the country. Well written and very interesting analysis.

Brilliant, especially for its price.

I'm an actor by trade, and recently got to perform with the Rogue Artists Ensemble, a magical group of madmen, in a production based on Neil Gaimon & Dave McKean's graphic novel THE TRAGICAL COMEDY OR COMICAL TRAGEDY of MR. PUNCH in Los Angeles.

To research the role of a Punch and Judy professor, I bought 6 books on puppeting...this hands down gave the most useful information for the least amount of money. Completely unpretentious. Enough detail to get you started to build and work with hand puppets and keep you busy for a year.

If you want a more in depth book, try PUPPETS AND PUPPET THEATRE

by David Currell, another wonderful book, but not one you can breeze through. Combine them on the same bookshelf would be my best suggestion.

simple puppetry

This book is really easy to understand even though it's not pretty. The diagrams are black and white sketches but they're surprisingly understandable. I didn't realize how simple making a puppet could be before reading this book. The book has diagrams, simple instructions and also little plays that go along with the puppets. When my husband and I have time (ha ha - we have a 14 month old) we plan to make some of these.

great ideas...

the book has some wonderful ideas and some very creative puppets but the instructions can be a little vague at times and sometimes they can be almost non-existant, appearing in the form of a small paragraph with a drawing next to it. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who's just starting out, but to someone who's experianced, it's a real gem. The book contains some wonderful ideas and inspiration, but doesn't provide you with step-by-step instructions. It has great ideas though.

Aruego, a native of the Philippines, was a lawyer before becoming an illustrator, and now lives in New York City. Dewey was born in Chicago and also lives in New York City.

Still love this book

Thirty-four years ago I read this book to my son every night. He soon knew it by heart and refused to allow me to deviate by a single word. I love the theme of family identity, empowering a young person to keep a family together, and looking towards the future and new life. So we just bought it again when my wife's nephew and his wife had their first child. Just wanted to pass on the joy.

A WCET certification guide

It seems that this book is targeted at candidates preparing to sit for the IEEE WCET certification exam (that's what the "Certified" in "Get Certified" refers to). As such, it overlaps with A Guide to the Wireless Engineering Body of Knowledge (WEBOK) and Fundamentals of Wireless Communication Engineering Technologies (Information and Communication Technology Series,). It is not as broad or comprehensive as the WEBOK, and since it is not from IEEE, there's a question about relevant coverage, for certification purposes, as another reviewer raised. Also, it is written by multiple authors, so lacks the overall coherence and unity of "Fundamentals of Wireless Communication Engineering Technologies"
(a book which appears to have some forms of endorsement by IEEE).

Nevertheless, this book is helpful for learning more about specific topics in the WCET syllabus. Some of the explanations are clearer than those in WEBOK, but your mileage may vary, as each chapter is written in a different style by different authors.

Get Certified

Goes into more detail than "A guide to the Wireless Engineering Body of Knowledge". Also, I think, better written. However, it is not (at least yet) on the IEEE list of recommended books. So, the question remains; how much of it is correct?

This is the perfect book for little Longhorns! It introduces Bevo and all the rival mascots in a fun story, and the illustrations are so cute. My son loves it!

Bodie is a clever rhyme about the University of Texas mascot. If you are a fan of UT or know anyone who is, this is a cute book for them and their children.
